Schedule II drugs have a high potential for abuse; and Schedule II drugs have a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the U.S. With severe restrictions; and Abuse of Schedule II drugs may lead to severe psychological or physical dependence. Methamphetamine is a DEA Schedule 2 drug, meaning that it has an FDA medically approved use, but has a high potential for abuse and dependence.
